Bulk Update Assets

The Bulk Update screen is for updating assets in bulk when you need to add or change a field or multiple fields. You choose which identifier to base your asset selection off of, whether it's Asset ID or Serial Number, then you select which fields to update and what they're being updated to. This feature will require you to copy and paste the ID's or serial numbers from an excel file to determine which assets get updated. Exporting the assets from the Manage Assets screen is usually the best way to get the assets you want to update.

NOTE: UPDATING ASSETS IN BULK IS NOT EASILY UNDONE AND SHOULD BE HANDLED CAREFULLY.

Start by clicking the Bulk Update tab under Assets. It will require you to choose an Asset Identifier Type to continue. Choose either Asset Serial Numbers or Asset IDs and it will drop down a list of fields you can update.

From here you will need to copy and paste either the Asset ID's or Serial Numbers, based on which Asset Identifier Type you chose at first, you are wanting to update in the Asset ID/SN field. Then choose the fields that you want to update and which values to update to in those fields.

Then click the Run Bulk Update button.

After clicking the Run Bulk Update button, it will give you a Caution pop up letting you know that this action cannot be easily undone. If you know you have the correct Asset's and the correct fields that are being updated, then click Proceed. Click Cancel to return to the previous screen.
